| I am thankful for...
I used to write in a diary turned "journal" (because that is what cool people started to call them?) That routine fell through as grade 10 came to an end... you know, school got busier and xanga was the place to be. Oh the good ol' days.
Then for about a year in university, I started journalling again - but this time it was all about thankfulness. (If I remember correctly, I was inspired to start this from an episode of Oprah). Every night before I went to sleep, I would reflect on the day that's past and think about at least 5 things I was thankful for. Some days, it was easy-peasy, and the words just flowed out of my pen. Other days... I would really struggle to come up with anything sincere. On those days, my 5 things usually consisted of the generic food, water (yes they became separate), shelter, family & friends.
Through my laziness, I'm beginning to convince myself that I should take this up again. Actively thinking about the blessings in my life has helped me appreciate things that I never would have thought to appreciate before. It has also helped me appreciate the things that I already do so much more.
I would really encourage you to try it for a while =) I know it probably won't last long... but try it.
Today I am thankful for....
- A faithful God who answers prayers! - A patient, #1 boyfriend - A safe, reliable ride home - A body that is intact and bruiseless - A unique & supportive family x 3 - A beautiful day, all in all
